Our peer group or independent judges are often responsible for these nominations and the judging of awards, which makes these endorsements critical to building and maintaining our global reputation.
European Fund Manager of the Year 2008 Award presented by Property Week Global magazine, 21 October 2008
ING Real Estate was recognised as the best European property asset manager with more than EUR 70bn under management across office, retail, residential, and industrial investments. The award recognises funds that produce consistent performance and the best of what is available in the investment world. We were credited for our detailed pan-European client-focused investment strategies.
IPD EuroProperty award for ING Dutch Retail Fund, 25 September 2008
The ING Dutch Retail Fund received the award for generating the highest three-year total return relative to the ROZ/IPD retail benchmark to December 2007. The award is based exclusively upon consistently measured investment performance as recorded in the Dutch ROZ/IPD Index.
The Sustainability Award is a special category of the International High-Rise Award presented biennially by the City of Frankfurt, the German Architecture Museum and DekaBank, July 2008.

The recently completed mixed-use building was named Best Overall Development and Best Shopping Centre in the development category of the Construction & Investment Journal Award 2007, which was presented in February 2008.

Kloosterbempden retail park won the Belgian 2008 Shopping Award in the retail parks category, October 2008

ING Real Estate named Retail Developer 2008 in the Netherlands, 13 June 2008
The award recognises our track record in developing new, and redeveloping existing shopping malls as well as our expertise in introducing new retail concepts in the Netherlands, such as the future Getz Entertainment Centre in Amsterdam and Bavelse Berg in Breda. The award was presented by retail data vendor Locatus and Dutch industry publication Vastgoedmarkt during the Provada real estate trade show in Amsterdam.
Preservation Award for One First Street, Cambridge, MA, US, May 2008
The Preservation Award was received from the Cambridge Historical Commission in honour of the project’s outstanding achievement in historic preservation. The property in the Boston area of Massachusets was developed by ING Real Estate investment management and is an adaptive re-use of a complex of historic 100-year old buildings previously used as a furniture factory and more recently as a candy factory. Several of the buildings were preserved and renovated into residential condominiums together with new construction.
Asia Pacific Real Estate Investment Award, 10 April 2008
ING Real Estate Investment Management Asia was named Investor of the Year in the Company of the Year category. The awards are organised by asiacre.com, a leading commercial real estate media firm.
